Ideas for Websites
- Keep some similarity in the pages.
- People feel more comfortable with pages with similar look and feel. Changing the look of every page becomes distracting.
- Exceptions to this: Kids and Youth sections. They enjoy more variety in the things they see.
- Watch the use of different fonts
- Face it: Am I Your Type? (Link to ideas about fonts etc)
- Keep different fonts on one page to a minimum. Recommend using Verdana or Arial fonts and don’t make the entire page handwriting italics (this might work on printed text, but is hard to read on a computer screen).
- Don’t put personal information on website without approval of the person. This includes:
- Address (identity theft issues)
- Phone Number (annoyance/identity theft issues)
- Email address (these can be pulled from web pages via automated methods and added to junk email lists)
- Health or vacation issues (if con artists/crooks know you are in the hospital or on vacation, that might make you a better candidate
