ABC's of Becoming a Christian

Becoming a Christian can be as easy as knowing your ABC's.

A - Admit

Admit to God you are a sinner. Repent, turning away from your sin. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

B - Believe

Believe that Jesus Christ is God's Son and accept God's gift of forgiveness from sin. John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 14:6 says " Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

C- Confess

Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Romans 10:9-10, 13 says " That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."..."For "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Important Definitions:

Sin: Sin is choosing your way instead of God's way. Sin separates people from God. 

Savior: Jesus Christ, the One who provided a way to keep you from being separated from God.

Lord: God, the One in charge.

Repent: Turn from doing wrong and determine to do right

Confess: Telling others that Jesus is your Savior and Lord.
